Interment: March 15, 2012 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO., with full military honors.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents: George Ross Martin & Marie Augusta, nee Switala, Martin and his son: Dennis Ross.
He is survived by his wife: Verna, nee Lucas, Martin, whom he married July 21, 1946, his daughter: Diana (Domonic) Sorce of Buena Vista, CO., his 3 grandchildren: Cristie Lynn Kennedy, Kirk Sorce & Craig Sorce, his 5 great grandchildren: Spencer Ross Kennedy, Sydney Lynn Kennedy, Samantha Sorce, Noah Sorce & Dillon Sorce. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Martin retired after 35+ years from Ameren Electric Company where he worked in the test department. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, IL., Masonic East Lodge 504 A.F. & A.M. in Fairview Heights, IL., had been a justice of the peace, former city council member in Fairview Heights, IL., Ducks Unlimited, and he was an avid hunter & fisherman and enjoyed skeet shooting. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran.
